Come Enjoy Art in the Library Garden

Tuesday  evening, August 4th at 7:00, weather permitting, artist, and Cross Keys Poetry member Faith Saxton Gallo will once again set up her easel in the library garden. We hope to have Matthew strumming a few chords on the guitar.

If you paint, draw, play an instrument, tell stories, write fiction, or compose poems–even if you just enjoy flowers and fine company in the shade, we invite you to join us.

The children will be finishing up their Summer Reading program nearby for the first hour, but we’ll enjoy a cool summer beverage and some snacks around 7:30.

Artists can open their notebooks and sketchbooks, or set up their easels along with us. We’d love it if you wanted to tap out a rhythm on your bongos, or practice some chords on your guitar! Consider it a relaxed artists’ playtime in the beautiful atmosphere of our Library Garden.

We only have a couple more Summer evenings ahead so come enjoy Art in the Garden with the Cross Keys Poetry Society!

*Note: In case of inclement weather, we will set up inside the library.

Kindergarten Kickstart

Is your child about to enter Kindergarten? Would you like him or her to have a short practice run? Come to our Kindergarten Kickstart program and they can be a little more prepared on the first day of school this year.

The dates are Tuesday July 28 and Thursday July 30, 11-12:30.

We will be focusing on School Readiness, talking about what might happen in Kindergarten, and meeting new friends. Two dates are planned and children should attend both sessions.

Remember, this program is for children who will be entering Kindergarten for the first time this upcoming School Year.

Please call the library to sign up.

A Painting by Renoir of Monet painting in his garden.

Calling area painters, poets, musicians, artists and story-tellers of all types, from beginner to pro! Don’t let the summer get away from you too quickly. Enjoy some art and light refreshments with like-minded friends in the Priestley-Forsyth Memorial Library Garden once again!

Tuesday  evening, July 21st at 7:00, weather permitting, artist, and Cross Keys Poetry member Faith Saxton Gallo will be setting up her easel in the library garden for the second time this summer.

If you paint, draw, play an instrument, tell stories, write fiction, or compose poems–even if you just enjoy flowers and fine company in the shade, we invite you to join us. Artists can open their notebooks and sketchbooks, or set up their easels along with us. We’d love it if you wanted to tap out a rhythm on your bongos, or practice some chords on your guitar! Consider it a relaxed community rehearsal, just artists doing what they love to do in the beautiful atmosphere of our Library Garden.

Perhaps you’ve seen one of Faith’s recent exhibitions, or were fortunate enough to take a watercolor class with her here at the library. In any case, this event is completely casual, and non-poets and the artistically challenged are encouraged to attend, enjoy a cool beverage, and wind down a summer day with us.

Again, that’s Tuesday, July 21st, starting at 7:00 pm, maybe a bit earlier, to make the most of the daylight.

*Note: In case of inclement weather, the function will move inside the library.
