Artists & Writers Workshop Meets Tuesday Night

The Cross Keys Artists & Writers Guild will be gathering Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the library to officially kick off our creativity workshop. We are using Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way:  A Spiritual  Path to Higher Creativity as our guide. The book was written to help people with artistic creative recovery. It teaches techniques and exercises to assist people in gaining self-confidence in harnessing their creative talents and skills. The ideas in creative personal development outlined in the book, which were felt to be new at the time of the publication, are said to have become a phenomenon, spawning into many workshops throughout the world. The workshops are based on a 12-session creativity course designed for people to work through and gain artistic inspiration, as outlined in the book. The program is focused on removing artistic blocks and fostering confidence. As we go through the course, we’ll be working on individual projects we bring to the meetings. For me, this will be a perfect opportunity to get unstuck with a screenplay I’ve been trying to finish. Perhaps you have a pet project you’ve been itching to complete, but find yourself hopelessly deadlocked. We look forward to seeing you Tuesday night.
