16th Annual Derby Day Benefit & Auction
![]()
The Derby Day Benefit & Auction, now in it's 16th year, is the library's primary yearly fundraising event. Derby Day is timed to coincide with the running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky and falls this year on Saturday, May 3rd. The library Derby Day event kicks off every year with a derby theme, complete with a large screen television where Derby Day attendees can watch the actual running of the Kentucky Derby. Some folks even come dressed up in Kentucky Derby-worthy attire! There are other traditional Kentucky Derby themed trimmings as well. Hundreds of donated items will be auctioned off during the silent auction which begins at 4:00pm and during the live auction which begins at 6:30. Items range from a value of just $5.00, to bigger ticket items that can be valued at hundreds of dollars. A delicious selection of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served during the silent auction. Attendees who bid on items and successfully win the bid will be billed at a later date. So join us for the party of the year and the chance to take home a few unbelievable auction items which are often worth much more than the winning bid! For additional questions or information on how you can donate items to the auction, click here. We'll see you there in the Great Room, east wing, at the Nottingham Village Retirement Center, Northumberland, PA.
