All of the databases that you will need for your assignments and school work are available from our PowerLibrary and Links page.  The following are the ones we think you are most likely to want to use.  If you don't find what you need, go to the main page!  To logon to PowerLibrary databases, enter the Public Library Code PL3142, plus the last 7 digits of your library card number.  Example PL3142XXXXXXX

  Over 500,000 current and historical photographs and graphics!  You can save yourself a lot of time and effort by using this rather than Google Image search!
   
• Biography Reference Bank
  Full text biographies of over 470,000 people.
   
• BookSource: Nonfiction
  A research database containing full text and abstracts for 1000 popular nonfiction books. Full text articles on literature, social studies, history and science are available and career, health, sports, adventure and technology information is also included.

 
• EBSCO Animals
  Find in-depth information on all sorts of animals.

 
• Facts For Learning
  All sorts of facts and information to help you with your schoolwork.  Make sure you are in the right section for your grade!
   
• Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia
  For when you need an encyclopedia.
   
• History Reference Center
  Would you believe this includes 58,000 historical documents; 43,000 biographies of historical figures; more than 12,000 historical photos and maps; and 87 hours of historical film and video?  Everything you need for your history or social studies homework!
   
• Kids Search (for grades K-5)
  Easy to use all-in-one search tool to find magazines & newspapers articles, dictionary & encyclopedia entries, and images on a wide variety of topics.
   
• MasterFILE Premier
  Covering virtually every general interest subject area, this database provides full text information dating as far back as 1975. Reference books, biographies, primary source documents, and a collection of photos, maps and flags are included.

  Magazine articles for Middle School and Jr. High students.
   
• netLibrary
  Search the full text of 1000s of electronic books!  Make sure you use this when working on assignments for school.

  For elementary school students.
   
• Searchasaurus
  Just for kids, and lots of fun! Includes an encyclopedia, an encyclopedia of animals, magazine searches, a dictionary, photos, maps and flags. A good homework resource.
   
• SIRS Discoverer
  Includes full text articles and images from over 1,600 domestic and international newspapers, magazines and government documents.  This database is an excellent student resource.
